On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., GW students have the exclusive opportunity to attend a free, secret concert presented by wego concerts. The lineup, which will be announced later this week, will feature local artists and a GW student band. The secret location will also be revealed this week.

This show is just one of four part of wego concert’s new series called “wego live.” According to a wego press release, the wego live series started because of the organization’s work with Sofar Sounds. “Sofar Sounds is a global live music series that aims to bring the magic back to live music through secret shows in intimate, unique spaces,” the press release said.

Unlike Sofar Sounds’ shows, which have featured notable artists including Bastille and Sylvan Esso, wego live shows are only available to college students. “For many people, college is a time in which we discover artists who we love for the rest of our lives. This series aims to help students discover new artists who may be the next big thing and for the artists to hopefully find lifelong fans,” said Fitz Holladay, founder of wego concerts.

The first secret show was for Georgetown students on March 31.  According to the press release, “The secret lineup for the show featured student band Faces for Radio and DC-based rapper Lyrx. The show was headlined by the popular indiepop band SHAED.”

So how do you get in on this secret show?

It’s incredibly easy. Download the wego concert app here, create a profile (you can log in using Facebook) and then search for “GW” in the app. When I downloaded it, the GW Secret Show was featured on the main page, so I didn’t even have to search for it. Once you find the show, just click “add” to RSVP to the show, which is how you’ll get access to the show. After you’ve RSVPed, I’d recommend sending some invites to your friends, so they can get in on it, too.

Plus, as if getting free entry to an exclusive show isn’t enough, by RSVPing to the show, you’ll automatically be entered in two drawings for chances to win two tickets to Sweetlife Music Festival, which featured Calvin Harris, The Weeknd and Tove Lo last year, and two tickets to see Waka Flocka Flame at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on the 19th at 8 p.m.

So, to recap: download the app, “add” the show, get entered to win free concert tickets and have a blast at a show exclusive to GW students on April 14. So easy, so free, so ~college~.

Indicate you’re going on the show’s Facebook event, so you’ll get the updates when the location and lineup are announced.
