With the weather getting warmer, it’s time to make exploring your DC coffee options a priority.  The best way to get a taste of a bunch of local shops is to try out the Indie Coffee Passport (ICP).

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Purchase your ICP online at for the very reasonable price of $20 + tax.

Step 2: Visit any of the 17 participating cafes within 7 months.

A few of your options include: Chinatown Coffee Co. on H St. and Ebenezers Coffeehouse on F St.

Step 3: This is the fun part, choose your caffeine and get your passport marked off.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 at all 17 cafes in the DC area. Or if you are feeling really adventurous, ICP is available in Vermont, Chicago, East Bay, and 3 cities in Canada.

For just twenty bucks, you can taste-test a variety of different cafes so try something new. This is well worth the money. Maybe gift it to a friend the way GW freshman, Brittany, did. She calls it “one of the coolest ways to explore the city.”

We’ve provided you with this MAP of each of the locations so you don’t get lost before you are sufficiently caffeinated:

Stay caffeinated, GW.
